Instrumental Washing-off Method with ProboKonG for Investigation of Parasitical Contamination.
(by
Tatiana M. Guzeeva, 2009, pat. #2371203RU, МУК 4.2.2661-10)
The method is intended and effective for large scale sanitary-parasitological investigation (monitoring) : of large surfaces (for example, in hospitals, or in schools, or in child welfare institutions, food manufactures, etc.), of large object quantities (for example, toys in child welfare institutions), large number of people (for example, staff, or children), or large vegetable batches (for example, wagons, or ships), when the method provides considerable reduction of labor-intensity and the result waiting time, in comparison with available methods.
Before running the method, make sure that
parasitical objects are absent in used (drinking) water. Or prepare the washing solution by means of filtration one with ProboKonG and reject the concentrate including parasitical
objects if they are contained in source water.
The base scheme of
washing solution filtration in the instrumental washing-off method.
The recirculation scheme of filtration is used in the all versions of washing-off. The immersed pump 14 is put in the vessel for filtering 12, filled with the washing solution 13. The pump feeds washing solution through the feeding tube into ProboKonG. The feeding flow entering the device is divided into two streams: the first bypasses the device and returns to the vessel 12 through tap 4C and the shift tube, the second enters the device passing through the tap 4B, counter 6, distributing head 3, comes into the sampler-bottle 1, filters through the powder filter PFG bed on Krapuchin's element 2 and returns into the vessel 12 through distributing head 3 and the device exit tube.
Instrumental
investigation of parasitical contamination of rooms, furniture, floors, rail,
bedding, working clothes.
Required equipment and materials.
ProboKonG-SES,
a plastic reservoir 12 (25-50L capacity, and 35-40 cm bottom diameter), a
washing vacuum cleaner (for example, of Thomas Bravo 20S Aquafilter
, Thomas Twin TT Aquafilter, Philips FC 6844 Triatlon type), a tableware detergent of
“Fairy” type, drinking water, filter cloth of “grinding
gas” type, PFG powder filter.
Sampling process.
The carefully washed washing vacuum cleaner
is filled with drinking water with addition of 5-10 drops of a tableware
detergent of “Fairy” type per 10L. The researched objects are
hovered by selected groups or in succession in wet cleaning regime or in dry
cleaning regime (with water dispersion switched off) for objects that cannot stand
moisture.
Absorbed air or water-air dispersion together
with the particles removed from the object enter the aquafilter,
where particles are trapped in the water.
Coarse contamination is prefiltered
off the washing solution through capronic filter cloth of “grinding
gas” type in a carefully washed vessel.
About 10-20L of drinking water with addition
of 5-10 drops of “Fairy” per 10L are poured in the plastic
reservoir 12 with 20-50L capacity. The protective prefilter
is put on the pump 14 head, the pump is put on the bottom of the plastic
reservoir 12, and the feeding tube is connected to ProboKonG
through the device inlet prefilter. The exit and
shift tubes are put into the plastic reservoir 12, and filtration of solution
13 from the reservoir 12 starts according to the recirculation scheme in ProboKonG manual. The powder
filter is deposited on the supporting lattice 2 of device in the process.
The washing solution, obtained from the
washing vacuum cleaner, is pull into the plastic reservoir 12 and the counter 6
registration is recorded. Filtering is finished after no less than threefold
volume of solution 13 placed in reservoir passes through the counter 6. During
the process parasitical objects are caught in the device powder filter. The
concentrate obtained from ProboKonG is developed and
investigated for parasitical objects presence as drinking water concentrate.
Instrumental washing-off of
plastic and rubber toys.
Required equipment and materials.
ProboKonG-SES, a plastic round basin
(plastic reservoir 12) with 30-50L capacity and the bottom diameter more than
35cm for placing the pump 14, a tableware detergent “Fairy” type,
drinking water, PFG powder filter.
Sampling process.
The pump 14 of ProboKonG
is put on the bottom of carefully washed basin 12, about 20L of drinking water
with addition of 5-10 drops of “Fairy” per 10L are poured into the
basin.
The exit and shift tubes are put into the
plastic basin 12 (for example, as it is shown on the drawing, keeping the tubes
on the basin wall by a clothes peg), so the washing solution flows from above
washing the toys, and filtration of the solution from the basin starts
according to the recirculation scheme in ProboKonG
manual. The powder filter is deposited on the supporting lattice 2 of device in
the process.
Manometer 6 pressure 1.5-2 AT is set with the
tap 4C, and the investigated toys are put into the basin in a quantity that
makes possible intensive stirring of the solution 13. The toys are taken out in
5-10 minutes, and a new batch is put into the basin. The operation is repeated
until all toys of the group are washed. After that the filtration pressure 3-4
AT is set and about 60L by counter 6 of solution 13 are filtered. During these
procedures parasitical objects are washed off the toys due to pump 14 vibration
and intensive water flow and are caught in the powder filter of ProboKonG.
The concentrate obtained from ProboKonG is developed and investigated for parasitical
objects presence as drinking water concentrate.
Investigation of aggregate
parasitical contamination of a group of children.
Required equipment and materials.
ProboKong-SES, a basin for washing
children's low parts, a vessel for washouts collection, a plastic vessel 12
with 20-50L capacity and more than 35cm bottom diameter for filtration with ProboKong, a child shampoo for hair and body washing (soap isn’t suitable because of its coagulation and rapid loading the powder filter), a tableware detergent of “Fairy” type, drinking water,
PFG powder filter.
Sampling process.
Children of a group wash their low parts with
warm drinking water and shampoo in turn over the basin. Washouts after every
child are collected in a carefully washed vessel for washout collection. About
15-20L of drinking water are poured in the plastic vessel 12 for filtration,
the pump 14 of ProboKonG is put in and the water
filtering is started according to the recirculation scheme of the device
manual. Next the collected aggregate washout is poured in the plastic vessel 12
for filtration and the counter 6 registration is recorded. The pressure of
filtration on manometer 6 is set about 3 AT with the tap 4C according to the
device manual. The filtering is finished after at least threefold volume (it is
60-80L usually) of the initial water and aggregate washout volumes sum passes
through counter 6. Parasitical objects are caught in the powder filter during
the procedure. The concentrate obtained from ProboKonG
is developed and investigated for parasitical objects presence as drinking
water concentrate. If parasitical objects have been found in aggregate washout,
the examination is performed to identify the carriers.
Investigation of aggregate
parasitical contamination of staff hands.
Required equipment and materials.
ProboKonG-SES, a basin for washout
collection, a tableware detergent of “Fairy” type, a plastic vessel
12 (20-50L) with bottom diameter 35-40 cm for filtering, drinking water, PFG
powder filter.
Sampling process.
The staff wash in turn their hands with the
detergent and a nail-brush over the basin for washout collection. About 20L of
drinking water are poured into the carefully washed plastic vessel 12 for
filtering, ProboKonG pump is put in and the filtering
under 2-3AT is started according to the recirculation scheme of the device
manual. The powder filter is deposited on the supporting lattice 2 of device in
the process.
Then, washouts from the basin for washout
collection are poured in the vessel for filtration 12 and the counter 6
registration is recorded, manometer 5 pressure 3-4AT is set with the tap 4C
according to the device manual. The filtering is finished after at least threefold
volume (60-80L usually) of the initial water and collected washout volumes sum
passes through the counter 6. Parasitical objects are caught in the powder
filter during the procedure. The concentrate obtained from ProboKonG
is developed and investigated for parasitical objects presence as drinking
water concentrate. If parasitical objects have been found in aggregate washout,
the examination is performed to identify the carriers.
Investigation of parasitical contamination
of vegetables, fruit, watermelons, melons, etc.
Required equipment and materials.
ProboKonG-SES, a plastic basin (vessel 12)
with capacity 25-50L and bottom diameter more than 35 cm (needed for placing ProboKonG pump), a tableware detergent of
“Fairy” type, drinking water, PFG powder filter.
Sampling process.
The pump 14 connected to ProboKonG
with the pipe for water feeding, is placed in the plastic basin 12, about
25-40L of drinking water with addition of 5-10 drops of detergent per 10L are
poured into the basin 12. The exit and shift tubes are put into the plastic
basin 12 (for example, as it is shown on the photograph, keeping the tubes on
the basin wall by a clothes peg) and filtering of washing solution starts
according to the recirculation scheme of ProboKonG
manual. The powder filter is deposited on the supporting lattice 2 of device in
the process.
The manometer 5 pressure about 2AT is set
with the tap 4C and a part of the investigated vegetables is put into the
basin. The batch size is selected so that it allowed intensive stirring of the
solution 13.
The vegetables are taken out in 5-10 minutes,
and new batch is put into the basin. The operation is repeated until the whole
investigated sample is washed. Next the filtration pressure 3-4AT is set on the
manometer 5 with the tap 4C according to the device manual, and at least
threefold volume (by counter 6) of the solution 13 is filtered.
In the process vegetable washing is the
result of pump vibration and intensive water flow, and parasitical objects are
caught in ProboKonG powder filter. The filtering is
stopped and the concentrate is obtained according to ProboKonG
manual. The concentrate obtained from ProboKonG is
developed and investigated for parasitical objects presence as drinking water
concentrate.
Rinsing the equipment.
After washing-off completion the plastic vessel 12 for washing off is
emptied, rinsed and filled with drinking water with addition of 5-10 drops of
detergent per 10L. The device pump 14 is put into the vessel 12, the exit and
shift tubes of ProboKonG are put into a drain, the pump is switched on, near
equal by sight flows through the exit and shift tubes are set with device taps
and solution 13 is drained out the vessel 12 to the level when the pump 14 is
still immersed in water, the pump 14 is switched off, taken out of the vessel,
emptied of the solution. The washing solution residuals are poured out of the
vessel. Krapuchin’s element 2 is cleaned
according to the device manual. Now, the device and the vessel are ready for
the next sampling. This operation is not
necessary after each sampling, because it is supposed that all parasitical
objects are cached with powder filter and eliminated from the system as result
of the sampling. After the sampling end the washing solution is fit for the
next sampling.
